ELIGIBILITY
The Contest is open to all, one application per entity, must have reached the age of majority in their province or territory of residence as of the date of entry. Excluded from eligibility are the officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives of Startupfest and their local Partners, see list, and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, distributors, sales representatives, advertising and promotion agencies and members of any immediate families (defined as parents, siblings, children and spouses, regardless of where they live) or households (whether or not related) of such officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives.
PUBLICITY
By submitting its application, the winner authorizes Startupfest and their local Partners to use, in any media (including the Internet) in perpetuity, their name, photograph, likeness, voice, place of residence and/or statement regarding the Prize for publicity and advertising purposes, without any compensation.
CONTEST PERIOD
The Contest begins on the 8th of March at 12:00 a.m. EST, and ends on the 10th of May at 11:59 p.m. EST. All entries must be received on or before the time stated. Startupfest reserves the right to extend or shorten the contest at their sole discretion.
HOW TO ENTER
No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win. Fill out and submit the application form on our website.
WINNER SELECTION
The winner will be chosen by a judging panel which will be made up of Startupfest and local Partners members. The winners will be selected on May 24th 2019. They will be contacted via the email submitted during registration. Each entrant is responsible for monitoring his/her email for prize notification. If a potential prize-winner cannot be reached by Startupfest and its local Partners by May 31st 2019 using the contact information provided at the time of entry, or if the prize is returned as undeliverable, that potential prize winner shall forfeit the prize. Startupfest and its local Partners will then award another winner. Prizes may not be awarded if an insufficient number of eligible entries are received.
PRIZES:
There will be one (1) winner per city.
(1) Prize Winners will receive one (1) roundtrip airfare from their respective cities and one (1) ticket to Startupfest. Prize is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash. No responsibility is accepted for any variation in the value of the prize. Accomodation and all other ancillary costs are the responsibility of the winner.
GENERAL RULES
Each Prize claim is subject to verification by Startupfest and its local Partners. In order to be declared a winner, the selected entrant must: (i) respond to notification of selection (and provide Startupfest with the selected entrants email address) within two (2) business days of first attempt by Startupfest; (ii) sign and return to Startupfest, within two (2) business days of it being sent by Startupfest, a written declaration and release form, releasing the Promotion Entities from any liability in connection with this Contest or the use, misuse, awarding or possession of any prize; and, (iii) otherwise comply with these Official Rules.
Return of the Prize, or any part thereof, or winner notification as undeliverable, inability to reach selected entrant or failure of selected entrant to respond to notification within two (2) business days of first attempt by Startupfest or Startupfest’s agent, failure to provide a valid email address, failure to provide proof of eligibility (if requested), release documents, or other required documentation in a timely manner, or other non-compliance with these Official Rules may result in disqualification, forfeiture of the Prize, or part thereof, and, at Statupfest’s sole discretion, selection of an alternate eligible entrant for the forfeited Prize, or part thereof, in accordance with these Official Rules, who will be subject to disqualification in the same manner.
Entries made with multiple addresses, under multiple identities, or through the use of any device or artifice to enter multiple times or entries that are in excess of the permitted number of entries during the Contest period are automatically void. All Contest entries obtained through unauthorized sources or which are incomplete, illegible, mutilated, altered, reproduced, forged, irregular or fraudulent in any way or otherwise not in compliance with these Rules are automatically void. Startupfest will be the sole and final reference source in validating a Prize claim.
By participating, each participant and selected winner agrees: (a) to be bound by these Rules and the decisions of Startupfest and its local Partners, (b) to release and hold harmless Startupfest and its local Partners, and their respective directors, officers, and employees, from any and all liability for claims/damages including, but not limited to, claims/damages for personal injury, for property damage with respect to acceptance, possession or use or misuse of the Prize or participation in the Contest; (c) to permit Startupfest and its local Partners to use his/her name, address, city, province, of residence, photograph, video, or any likeness for advertising or publicity purposes without any additional compensation and (d) the winner agrees to sign a Declaration and Release Form to this effect.
The decisions of Startupfest in relation to this Contest will be final and binding on all entrants.
Startupfest and its local Partners shall not be responsible for incorrect or inaccurate transcription or registration of Contest entry information, technical malfunctions, lost/delayed data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, faulty, incomplete, incomprehensible, or erased computer or network transmissions, line failures of any telephone network, failure of computer equipment, software, inability to access any online service or website, inability to submit the online entry form, or any other error or malfunction, or any injury or damage to entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation, or for late, illegible or misdirected entries.
Startupfest reserves the right to cancel, terminate, or suspend this Contest, at its sole discretion, in the event of a technical failure, computer virus or bug, unauthorized human intervention, fraud or any other occurrence or cause beyond its control that corrupts or adversely affects the administration, security, fairness or normal operation of the Contest.
Under no circumstances will Startupfest and its local Partners, and their respective directors, officers, and employees be required to award more Prizes than what is indicated in these Rules or award the Prizes other than in accordance with these Rules.
The Contest is subject to all Federal, Provincial and local laws, as well as the rules adopted in view of said laws.
